International seminar “Czechs, Germans, Jews”

Vienna, Prague, Munich, Fall 2004

Seminar-Prag

Can light be shed on the common history of three European universities in just one semester?! This was the challenge for 40 students from Vienna, Prague and Munich in the 2004/05 winter semester. The seminar “Czechs, Germans, Jews” focused on the multinational and also tumultuous history of Bohemian countries from 1848 on. Professor Martin Schulze Wessel, co-initiator of the course, was satisfied with the result. “It was interesting to note that nobody took up national positions; instead, there was a lively discussion between the young students.”
